The Shortsfest portion of the Seattle International Film Festival takes place this weekend and with it a great opportunity to introduce kids to the art of short cinema – a genre fast gaining in popularity as iPhones, easy-to-operate cameras and other new technology make it easy for even novices to create a short film. If you have a younger child with short attention span, The Family Picture Show line up during the Shortsfest is for you.

The Big Brother (Switzerland) Girl and boy stick figures find new company in an incomplete third figure, who turns out to be a lot of fun.
Brad & Gary (France): If you’ve got a nose picker in your family, you don’t want to miss this sweet and goofy tale about the ups and downs of friendship.
Catch and Release (USA): A fish thrower and a flower vendor discover budding romance at Pike Place Market.
Fresh Guacamole (USA): A fresh take on a favorite Mexican dish.
Koyaa - The Extraordinary (Slovenia): Koyaa wants to tie his shoes but the naughty laces won't listen.
The Kumquat Kwadruplets (USA): When the Quadruplets work together they become nature's perfect machine. When they don't work together things fall apart.
The Last Marble (India): Sometimes children teach us what we can never learn from adults. True happiness is when one can create joy in another's life.
A Martian Picnic (USA): Ollie and his dog go for a picnic on Mars and find some very pesky inhabitants.

Zebu and the Photo Fish (Uganda): To the disbelief of his father, Zebu embarks on an adventure to rid his dad of debt, have his mother’s illness treated, and stabilize his family for good.
