Winters with cold, rainy days make staying dry with raincoats and warm jackets a necessity for Pacific Northwest residents. Unfortunately, the 20,000 foster children who live here often enter the system with only the clothes on their back; having a weather-proof, warm coat with all its buttons, a working zipper and the right fit is not a certainty.
As well, coats can be costly for foster families shopping to keep up with the changing needs of their fast-growing children. Sleep Country USA is hosting its annual "Coat Drive for Foster Kids," now through Sunday, Nov. 4, to help in this endeavor.
Families are encouraged to bring in new and warm, rainproof or rain resistant coats in all sizes (infant through adult) to any Sleep Country location. The donations will be distributed among Sleep Country’s partner foster care organizations. To learn more about this program, visit www.sleepcountry.com/local-foster-kids.aspx.
