Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra will celebrate the opening of its 18th season with another of its popular Jazz4Kids concerts on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. in the Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall at Benaroya Hall. This one-hour matinee is presented with special support from The Glaser Foundation and Seattle's Child magazine.
Jazz4Kids concerts are presented at a nominal $1 ticket charge. With the goal of turning a professional concert hall into a classroom, this event features instrument demonstrations, questions from kids in the audience, and a hands-on "instrument petting zoo" in the lobby (courtesy of Kennelly Keys Music) where kids can come and try out a band instrument. The music performed will be selections from the "New Orleans Night Out" concert that evening (note: Branford Marsalis will not appear in the Jazz4Kids concert).

The Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra is the Northwest's premier big band jazz ensemble. Founded in 1995, the 17-piece big band is made up of the most prominent jazz soloists and band leaders in the greater Seattle area.
