White River Valley Museum Hosts Youth Poetry Competition

What is a best friend? Is a best friend a person, an animal or a favorite toy? What makes best friends so great? The White River Valley Museum in Auburn wants to know more about what you think friendship is and what the term “best friends” means to you.

Enter the museum’s "Best Friends Poetry Competition" for a chance to have your poetry displayed alongside those shown in the display: Best Friends, Antique Images of Animals and Their People. As well, first-place winners receive $30 and second-place winners receive $15.

Only youth ages 7 to 17 may submit poetry for this contest. There will be three age groups from which multiple winners will be selected (7 to 10, 11 to 13 and 14 to 17). All entries must be received by email or post on or no later than Friday, Feb. 17. To learn more about this contest, visit www.wrvmuseum.org/Poetry_Competition.htm
